Vintage Overview:
A cool, rainy winter followed by a mild summer in 2023 led to a delayed harvest, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and develop complex flavours. Hand-harvested between September 23 and October 24, only the top 28 vineyard parcels were selected to represent the classic Lytton Springs profile.
Winemaking Process:
• Harvest Dates: September 23 – October 24, 2023
• Fermentation: 100% natural primary and secondary
• Barrel Ageing: 16 months in 100% air-dried American oak. 19% new oak, 3% one-year, 10% two-year, 10% three-year, 58% five+ years
This wine is pad filtered at bottling, in alignment with Ridge Vineyards’ commitment to sustainable, low-intervention winemaking.
