Sourced from old vines planted as early as 1901, this limited-production red wine showcases the character and depth that Ridge is renowned for.
Due to a dry winter, the 2021 vintage yielded a lower fruit set, resulting in exceptional concentration and intensity across all varietals, especially Zinfandel. A total of thirty-eight vineyard blocks were harvested between September 1st and October 5th, with thirty-four chosen for the final blend. Among them are rare, 80-year-old Counoise vines interplanted with Cinsaut, adding layers of complexity.
Aged for 16 months in American oak barrels (17% new), this wine is vinified with 100% native yeast fermentation and minimal intervention, staying true to Ridge's philosophy. The result is a bold yet balanced wine with age-worthy potential.

On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of red and black raspberry, white pepper, fennel, sage, dark chocolate, and sarsaparilla. The palate is full-bodied, with flavours of juicy blackberry, ripe plum, and rich mid-palate texture, supported by fresh acidity and a long, satisfying finish.
