Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard River Stones Malbec 2018. Premium Argentine Red Wine from Uco Valley
Discover the exquisite Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard River Stones Malbec 2018, a luxurious red wine crafted from grapes grown in a unique parcel of the Adrianna Vineyard, nestled in the prestigious Gualtallary District of the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. This single-vineyard Malbec is sourced from a distinctive ancient riverbed soil, covered with white oval stones that create optimal drainage and temperature regulation, making it one of the most sought-after stony soil Malbec wines.
The exceptional terroir of the Adrianna Vineyard River Stones parcel allows the stones to absorb heat during the day and release it slowly at night, balancing extreme temperature swings and resulting in a Malbec that is both intensely aromatic and luxuriously rich. This Argentine Malbec wine showcases floral aromas, smooth tannins, and a unique metallic minerality reminiscent of the river stones beneath the vines.
Winemaking Details:
• 100% Malbec grapes
• Fermented in 225L oak barrels and 500L French oak roll-fermenters for 17 days.

A Legacy of Excellence from Mendoza, Argentina
Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, the Catena Zapata winery has remained family-owned for over four generations. As one of the few major Argentine wine producers still in Argentine hands, the Catena family has played a key role in shaping the future of winemaking in South America.
In the 1980s, Dr. Nicolás Catena Zapata transformed the industry by pioneering high-altitude vineyards in the Andes foothills of Mendoza. His groundbreaking work, especially with Malbec, put Argentine wines on the global map. By the mid-1990s, his daughter, Dr. Laura Catena, joined the mission, continuing the family’s tradition of innovation and excellence.
Today, Catena Zapata holds more 100-point wine ratings than any other winery in South America and is globally recognised for quality and sustainability. Certified by Bodegas de Argentina, the winery also leads in research on terroir, soil, and historic grape clones.
