Discover Gran Enemigo Agrelo 2019, an exceptional single-vineyard Cabernet Franc from the prestigious Agrelo sub-region in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. Crafted by renowned winemaker Alejandro Vigil at Bodega Aleanna, this vintage exemplifies the power and elegance of high-altitude Argentine red wine.
Grown at 930 metres (3,051 ft) above sea level in a high-density vineyard (10,000 plants per hectare) with clay soils, this wine reflects the purity of its terroir. The 2019 vintage is celebrated as “El Año Mendocino”—a classically dry, sunny, and balanced year across Mendoza.
Vinified using traditional techniques, the grapes underwent cold maceration for 3 days, with fermentation in barrel at an average of 23°C. 20% whole bunches were used, and the maceration lasted 10 days. The wine was aged for 15 months in 100-year-old French oak foudres, imparting subtle complexity and structure.
Expect a refined Cabernet Franc with aromas of red berries, spices, and floral notes, complemented by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. A wine that will evolve beautifully over time, perfect for collectors and connoisseurs of Argentinian high-altitude red wines.
Perfect for pairing with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or aged cheeses. A must-have for fans of elegant Argentine Cabernet Franc wines from premium single vineyards.
