Discover Viña Haras de Pirque ‘Albis’ 2018, a luxurious Chilean red wine crafted in the heart of the Maipo Valley, one of Chile’s most prestigious wine regions. This exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère blend showcases the harmony of power and elegance that defines the valley’s terroir.
Vintage and Climate
The 2018 vintage began with mild winter temperatures and a dry, frost-free spring, followed by a warm summer. These ideal growing conditions allowed for optimal ripening of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère grapes. Harvest took place under cool, breezy conditions, Cabernet Sauvignon in early April and Carménère in May, preserving freshness and structure in the fruit.
Winemaking and Ageing
Each grape variety was harvested and vinified separately to highlight its unique characteristics. After a gentle cold maceration of five days, traditional fermentation enhanced depth, and flavour concentration. The wine underwent 20 days of maceration in French oak vats, then blended in December 2018 and aged 18 months in French oak barriques, adding layers of complexity and finesse.
Tasting Notes
Viña Haras de Pirque ‘Albis’ 2018 opens with aromas of roasted coffee, blackberries, and subtle smoky notes. On the palate, expect a balanced, elegant red wine with mint, fresh herbs, and spicy undertones of black pepper and liquorice. The texture is silky, with refined tannins and a long, lingering finish that beautifully expresses the Maipo Valley terroir.

Haras de Pirque Estate was founded with a clear vision, to craft high-quality organic Chilean wines that reflect the extraordinary terroir of the Maipo Valley. Our journey began with a passion for sustainable winemaking in Chile, combining centuries of tradition with innovation and respect for nature.
The name Haras de Pirque pays tribute to Chile’s oldest thoroughbred horse farm, established in 1892. Today, our vineyards and state-of-the-art winery are surrounded by the historic racetrack, blending the art of winemaking with the heritage of Chilean equestrian excellence.
Nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, our estate sits at the heart of the region where Chilean viticulture first flourished. When the Maipo Valley was recognised as a Chilean appellation of origin in 1994, it became the cradle of the country’s most prestigious wines, a legacy that Haras de Pirque proudly continues.
In the early 2000s, Marchese Piero Antinori, captivated by the beauty and potential of this land, joined the Haras de Pirque adventure. What began as a celebrated thoroughbred stud farm evolved into a collaboration between Italian winemaking heritage and Chilean terroir, a harmony that defines every bottle we produce.
Our first harvest marked a new era: the 2001 vintage gave birth to Albis, a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, dedicated to Piero Antinori’s eldest daughter, Albiera. Albis represents the dawn of a new day, a perfect expression of balance, elegance, and the unique character of the Maipo Valley’s organic vineyards.
