Despite the higher rainfall during the 2023 growing season, meticulous vineyard management and ideal morning dew ensured perfectly ripened grapes bursting with fresh tropical passionfruit, zesty mandarin, and fresh herb aromas. Each parcel was carefully handpicked and fermented separately with selected yeast strains, preserving the varietal’s purity through slow, cool fermentation. The result is a crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc showcasing Marlborough’s signature bright fruit notes and mineral-driven finish.

Established in 1996, The Crossings is a pioneering Awatere Valley winegrower proudly part of the Yealands Wine Group since 2011. Located in the northern Marlborough wine region of New Zealand’s South Island, our vineyards are nestled along the picturesque riverside, cultivating exceptional grapes in one of the country’s most prestigious sub-regions.
Carefully selected grapes come from the premium Awatere Valley and Wairau wine regions, known for their unique terroir and ideal growing conditions. The combination of hot sunny days and cool crisp nights in this extreme climate encourages slow, natural grape ripening. This process results in premium New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wines bursting with intense tropical fruit flavours, vibrant acidity, and refreshing, crisp finishes.
At The Crossings, sustainable viticulture and environmentally responsible wine production is prioritised. Vineyards in Toitū are carbon zero certified and fully accredited by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, ensuring every bottle you enjoy supports eco-friendly practices that protect the natural landscape and biodiversity.
Formed by ancient glaciers, the Awatere Valley boasts diverse soil types including alluvial stony deposits, glacial outwash, and grey clay mixed with limestone. The vines thrive in free-draining rocky, sandy, and gravelly soils that impart subtle mineral and flinty undertones to the wines. The pronounced climate variations contribute to intensely concentrated flavours, making their Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wines stand out with depth and complexity.
