Discover the essence of Napa Valley elegance with the 2019 ‘FAY’ Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, an extraordinary 100-point vintage that captures the soul of one of California’s most iconic vineyards. Named in honour of Nathan Fay, the pioneer who first planted Cabernet Sauvignon in the Stags Leap District in 1961, this wine is a testament to precision viticulture, timeless terroir, and the mastery of winemaker Marcus Notaro.
Sourced exclusively from meticulously selected blocks of the historic FAY Vineyard Blocks 2C, 6, 8, 3B, 3A, 5A, and 2B, this vintage reveals layer upon layer of vibrant red cherry, blackcurrant, and wild raspberry, underscored by seductive floral notes of violet and sage. Aged for 21 months in hand-selected new French oak barrels, the wine exudes a polished structure with ultra-fine tannins and a supple, almost velvet-like mouthfeel.
On the palate, expect an impeccable balance of power and finesse, often described as “an iron fist in a velvet glove.” Aromas of clove, graphite, tree bark, and dried herbs weave into a core of rich dark fruit, offering extraordinary depth and aging potential. Elegant and expressive, yet deeply rooted in tradition, this is a wine to savour now or cellar confidently through 2039.
Elevate your wine collection with a Napa Valley legend that defines the art of luxury winemaking.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars was founded in 1970 by Warren Winiarski and became world-famous after its 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the "Judgment of Paris" blind tasting in 1976, proving that Napa Valley could produce world-class wines. This victory launched the winery into international recognition and solidified the reputation of Napa Valley as a premier winemaking region. The winery, located in Napa Valley's Stags Leap District, continues to be known for its high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon.
