The Ridge Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on the esteemed Klein Ranch vineyard, a site known for producing intensely structured, small-lot California mountain Cabernet.
A dry winter followed by a warm summer concentrated the fruit’s natural richness, while careful, gentle fermentation preserved freshness and avoided over-extraction. The result: a beautifully balanced Cabernet with purity, depth, and long-term ageing potential.
Much of the fruit in this vintage comes from select vineyard blocks traditionally reserved for Ridge’s iconic Monte Bello label. This creates a more approachable yet highly collectible wine, showcasing classic Santa Cruz Mountains character, minerality, vibrant acidity, and elegant tannins.

• Fermentation: 100% whole berries; native yeast
• Ageing: 19 months in 100% air-dried American oak barrels (50% new)
• Minimal intervention: No additions except natural malolactic bacteria & minimal sulphur

Aromas of black cherry, dark plum, black olive, dried rose petals, cedar, and wintergreen mint unfold in layers. On the palate, fresh acidity meets gravelly minerality and vibrant red and black fruit. Integrated oak and firm, youthful tannins promise excellent ageing potential.
