Pulenta Estate Gran Malbec X 2020 is a premium Argentine Malbec crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The grapes are manually harvested and selected, followed by a 48-hour cold maceration at 8°C to enhance colour and aromatic intensity. Total maceration extends to 21 days, allowing for deep extraction of flavour and structure.
Fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel tanks, roll fermenters and French oak barrels, with spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurring naturally in wood. The wine is then matured for 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% second use) to achieve perfect balance and complexity.
This exceptional Malbec shows an intense dark violet colour with remarkable brightness. On the nose, it offers aromas of red fruits, ripe cherries, violet and purple flowers, showcasing the varietal’s pure expression. Subtle toasted and vanilla notes from the French oak ageing add finesse and depth. Elegant, structured and beautifully balanced, Pulenta Estate Gran Malbec X 2020 is an outstanding choice for collectors and lovers of premium Argentine wine.
Pulenta Estate was founded in 2002 by brothers Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta, third-generation winemakers carrying on their family's century-old winemaking tradition. Nestled in the prestigious Alto Agrelo region of Mendoza, Argentina, the estate benefits from high-altitude vineyards (980 meters above sea level) and pure meltwater from the Andes, creating ideal conditions for producing world-class wines.
The Pulenta family story began in 1902 when Angelo Antonio Polenta emigrated from Italy to Mendoza. By 1914, he had purchased land and built his first winery, laying the foundation for a family-owned wine business that flourished for generations. Although the original company was sold in 1997, Eduardo and Hugo revived their family legacy with the creation of Pulenta Estate just a few years later.
Today, Pulenta Estate spans 135 hectares of meticulously maintained vineyards. Their wine portfolio showcases the essence of Mendoza's terroir, combining traditional Italian heritage with modern winemaking expertise and sustainable viticulture.
