Experience the excellence of Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2021, a premium Tuscan red wine from Tenuta Tignanello estate in the heart of Chianti Classico. Crafted from carefully selected Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes, this exceptional vintage reflects a perfect growing season in Tuscany.
The 2021 vintage is already regarded as one of the finest in recent memory, with a long, balanced ripening period that resulted in powerful yet elegant Chianti Classico wines. Early spring budbreak followed by a dry, cool April and a hot, dry summer led to grapes of remarkable concentration and finesse.
In the winery, grapes underwent gentle destemming and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with careful pump-overs and délestage to ensure deep colour and soft tannin extraction. The wine then matured for one year in French and Hungarian oak barriques, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle ageing, ensuring structure and longevity.
Tasting Notes
This Chianti Classico Riserva red wine shows a vibrant ruby red hue. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruit, especially black cherry, mingle with floral hints and subtle sweetness reminiscent of powdered sugar. The bouquet deepens with warming notes of cinnamon and dill, delivering a refined, spicy complexity.
On the palate, it is vibrant and structured, with supple tannins, mouth-filling texture, and a long, savoury finish. A classic expression of the Chianti terroir, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Discover Six Centuries of Tuscan Winemaking with the Antinori Family Wines
Experience the legacy of one of Italy’s most iconic wine producers, the Antinori family, whose winemaking heritage in Tuscany spans over 600 years and 26 generations. Since 1385, the Antinori family has crafted fine Italian wines that reflect both ancient tradition and a pioneering spirit of innovation.
Originally silk traders in 12th-century Florence, the Antinori’s transitioned to winemaking and quickly gained international acclaim. By the 16th century, Antinori wines were being exported to France, Flanders, Spain, and North Africa, establishing a global reputation for quality Italian wine exports.
A major milestone in their journey was the acquisition of the Tignanello Estate in 1900, which sparked a new era of innovation and growth. Today, Antinori is celebrated as one of the top Tuscan wine producers, with prestigious vineyards in Piedmont, Lombardy, Umbria, and Puglia.
The Antinori vineyards cover nearly 1,400 hectares of premium vineyard land in Tuscany and Umbria, producing world-renowned wines such as Tignanello, Solaia and Badia a Passignano.
As Marchese Piero Antinori states, “Ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never held back our spirit of innovation.”
Whether you're seeking premium red wines from Tuscany or iconic Italian white wines for your collection, the Antinori family continues to define excellence in Italian winemaking.
