Experience the elegance of Il Bruciato 2021, a premium red wine from the renowned Marchese Antinori estate in Bolgheri. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this vintage captures the unique terroir of the Tuscan coast with exceptional balance, richness, and drinkability.
Vintage
The 2021 vintage was shaped by a long, dry summer stretching from June to September. Thanks to abundant winter rainfall, the deep soils of Bolgheri retained essential moisture, allowing the vines to flourish throughout the growing season. Cool spring temperatures delayed bud break and flowering, while the mild summer ensured even ripening and healthy, concentrated berries.
Harvest unfolded from early to late September, beginning with Merlot and finishing with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
Vinification
Grapes were carefully selected, destemmed, and gently crushed on arrival at the cellar. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 10–15 days at 28–30°C (82–86°F). A portion of the Merlot and Syrah fermented at cooler temperatures to preserve their aromatic intensity. Malolactic fermentation occurred in both barriques and stainless steel, completing by year’s end. The final blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Syrah, and touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot was aged in barriques before bottling, enhancing structure, depth, and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Il Bruciato 2021 presents an intense ruby-red colour. Aromas of ripe red berries, sweet spices, and subtle tobacco rise from the glass. On the palate, it offers a full, harmonious structure with plush fruit, refined tannins, and a long, satisfying finish.
A versatile, approachable Tuscan red wine perfect for pairing with grilled meats, pasta dishes, hard cheeses, and Mediterranean cuisine.
Discover Six Centuries of Tuscan Winemaking with the Antinori Family Wines
Experience the legacy of one of Italy’s most iconic wine producers, the Antinori family, whose winemaking heritage in Tuscany spans over 600 years and 26 generations. Since 1385, the Antinori family has crafted fine Italian wines that reflect both ancient tradition and a pioneering spirit of innovation.
Originally silk traders in 12th-century Florence, the Antinori’s transitioned to winemaking and quickly gained international acclaim. By the 16th century, Antinori wines were being exported to France, Flanders, Spain, and North Africa, establishing a global reputation for quality Italian wine exports.
A major milestone in their journey was the acquisition of the Tignanello Estate in 1900, which sparked a new era of innovation and growth. Today, Antinori is celebrated as one of the top Tuscan wine producers, with prestigious vineyards in Piedmont, Lombardy, Umbria, and Puglia.
The Antinori vineyards cover nearly 1,400 hectares of premium vineyard land in Tuscany and Umbria, producing world-renowned wines such as Tignanello, Solaia and Badia a Passignano.
As Marchese Piero Antinori states, “Ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never held back our spirit of innovation.”
Whether you're seeking premium red wines from Tuscany or iconic Italian white wines for your collection, the Antinori family continues to define excellence in Italian winemaking.
