Discover the elegance of La Braccesca Santa Pia Riserva Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2018, a premium aged red wine from the heart of Tuscany. Crafted from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in the renowned Santa Pia vineyard, this 2018 vintage red wine is a testament to traditional winemaking and exceptional terroir.
2018 Vintage: A Unique Growing Season
The 2018 growing season was marked by a cool, dry winter and a spring frost that resulted in lower yields but exceptional grape quality. Warm, dry summer conditions followed, along with ideal day-to-night temperature swings in September, ensuring perfect ripeness and flavour concentration in every berry.
Traditional Vinification & Barrel Ageing
The hand-harvested Sangiovese grapes were gently destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 26–28°C to preserve their signature aromas. A 20-day skin maceration extracted soft, silky tannins, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in 500L French oak tonneaux for 12 months and bottle-aged for an additional 20 months before release.
Tasting Notes
This Tuscan aged red wine boasts a deep ruby red colour and a bouquet rich in ripe red fruit, black pepper, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is refined and well-balanced, offering soft tannins and bright freshness. Notes of ripe cherry, plum, and spice linger beautifully on the finish.
Add this aged Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva to your collection or serve it for special occasions, it is a true expression of Tuscan excellence.
Discover Six Centuries of Tuscan Winemaking with the Antinori Family Wines
Experience the legacy of one of Italy’s most iconic wine producers, the Antinori family, whose winemaking heritage in Tuscany spans over 600 years and 26 generations. Since 1385, the Antinori family has crafted fine Italian wines that reflect both ancient tradition and a pioneering spirit of innovation.
Originally silk traders in 12th-century Florence, the Antinori’s transitioned to winemaking and quickly gained international acclaim. By the 16th century, Antinori wines were being exported to France, Flanders, Spain, and North Africa, establishing a global reputation for quality Italian wine exports.
A major milestone in their journey was the acquisition of the Tignanello Estate in 1900, which sparked a new era of innovation and growth. Today, Antinori is celebrated as one of the top Tuscan wine producers, with prestigious vineyards in Piedmont, Lombardy, Umbria, and Puglia.
The Antinori vineyards cover nearly 1,400 hectares of premium vineyard land in Tuscany and Umbria, producing world-renowned wines such as Tignanello, Solaia and Badia a Passignano.
As Marchese Piero Antinori states, “Ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never held back our spirit of innovation.”
Whether you're seeking premium red wines from Tuscany or iconic Italian white wines for your collection, the Antinori family continues to define excellence in Italian winemaking.
