Vineyard Selection
This premium Barossa Valley Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre blend is sourced from some of the region’s most respected vineyard sites.
• Shiraz fruit comes from old vineyards in Krondorf and Tanunda, delivering depth and structure.
• Grenache is sourced from Moppa, Greenock, Ebenezer, and Tanunda, contributing brightness and aromatic lift.
• Mourvèdre from Ebenezer and Light Pass adds savoury complexity and fine tannin support.
2021 Barossa Valley Vintage
The 2021 Barossa vintage is widely regarded as outstanding. Warm early-season conditions and average rainfall were followed by a calm flowering period, resulting in excellent fruit set and healthy canopies. Well-timed rainfall in late January refreshed the soils, while a cool, dry March allowed for slow, even ripening. The result is fruit with exceptional flavour concentration, balance, and mature tannins, making this one of the most celebrated Barossa vintages in recent years.
Winemaking & Maturation
Each parcel was fermented separately in small open stainless-steel fermenters using a submerged cap to gently extract flavour and tannin. A portion of the Grenache was fermented with whole bunches, enhancing savoury and spicy characteristics. The wine was matured in a combination of new fine-grain French oak hogsheads and seasoned barrels, ensuring integration without overpowering the fruit.
Tasting Notes
This Barossa GSM red wine opens with vibrant aromas of blackberry and dark cherry, layered with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and subtle smoky oak. The palate is generous and velvety, offering layered red and black fruit flavours, savoury spice, and fine, soft tannins. Bright natural acidity provides freshness and length, finishing long, pure, and beautifully balanced.
Perfect for cellaring or enjoying now, this wine pairs exceptionally well with grilled meats, slow-cooked lamb, or rich vegetarian dishes.
