Vintage
The 2024 vintage in Marlborough is celebrated for exceptional quality and smaller yields. A dry, warm growing season nurtured vibrant, healthy fruit, while cooler temperatures during flowering naturally reduced the harvest size. These ideal conditions allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, developing rich, concentrated flavours while maintaining their hallmark acidity and freshness.
Vinification
Harvested in the cool early mornings to preserve aromatic purity, each vineyard block was harvested and fermented separately for greater depth and character. A short period of skin contact before pressing ensured maximum flavour extraction. Most of the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks to maintain bright fruit notes, while a portion matured in French oak barrels, adding texture, roundness, and subtle complexity.
Tasting Notes
This expressive Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of grapefruit, lemongrass, and passionfruit, intertwined with hints of gooseberry and citrus blossom. The palate bursts with flavours of honeydew melon, lime, and ripe grapefruit, balanced by crisp acidity and a clean, mineral-driven finish. Refreshing yet refined, it is a true showcase of Marlborough’s signature style.

Discover the legacy of Isabel Estate, one of the original Marlborough vineyards producing world-class wines from some of the region’s oldest vines. Founded in 1980 by pilot Mike Tiller, Isabel Estate began when Mike spotted a unique pocket of land from the air, a location that would become home to one of Marlborough’s pioneering wineries.
Named in honour of Mike’s mother, Isabel, the winery quickly became known for its ultra-premium wines that reflect the purity and intensity of the Marlborough terroir. Throughout the 1980s, Mike and his wife Robyn planted classic varietals, including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, producing fruit of exceptional quality sought after by New Zealand’s leading wine producers.
By 1994, Isabel Estate proudly released its first single-vineyard Pinot Noir, showcasing the elegance and depth that have since become hallmarks of the estate. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, Isabel Estate continues to craft award-winning Marlborough wines, celebrated for their balance, texture, and vibrant expression of place.
All fruit is estate-grown on 54 hectares of sustainably farmed vines, most of which are now certified organic. Isabel Estate remains dedicated to producing premium Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, hand-crafted Pinot Noir, and elegant organic Chardonnay that embody the heart and heritage of New Zealand winemaking.
