The Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium 2018 is a standout vintage from one of Australia's most revered winemaking families. Crafted in the heart of the Barossa Valley, this premium red blend showcases exceptional balance, complexity, and ageing potential, making it a must-have for serious wine collectors and lovers of fine Australian wine.
A Vintage to Remember
Harvested during a near-perfect growing season, the 2018 vintage benefited from a mild, dry summer and ideal ripening conditions. This allowed full and balanced maturity across all grape varieties, making the 2018 Euphonium one of the finest expressions of Barossa terroir in the past decade.
Handcrafted with Care
Each parcel of fruit was handpicked in the cool morning and fermented separately in small concrete and stainless steel open-top fermenters. The wine was matured in a mix of French (85%) and American (15%) oak hogsheads, including 19% new oak, for 18 months. It was then bottled and aged for two years before release, ensuring elegance and depth.

Since 1868, the Henschke family has been crafting exceptional wines from their historic estate in the Eden Valley wine region of South Australia. Now led by fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and his viticulturist wife Prue Henschke, Henschke Wines has evolved into one of the most celebrated family-owned wineries in Australia, producing some of the country's most iconic single-vineyard wines.
Award-Winning Australian Wines from Iconic Vineyards
The Henschke name is synonymous with excellence, thanks to their flagship single-vineyard wines, Hill of Grace Shiraz, and Mount Edelstone Shiraz, both considered among Australia’s most acclaimed red wines. These premium wines are crafted with a deep respect for tradition, terroir, and sustainability, offering unmatched depth, complexity, and ageing potential.
Sustainable and Biodynamic Winegrowing in Eden Valley and Adelaide Hills
Henschke owns and manages three vineyards in the Eden Valley and one in the cool-climate Adelaide Hills wine region, all cultivated using biodynamic and organic farming practices. Prue Henschke’s pioneering approach to sustainable viticulture in South Australia has restored the natural balance of these historic vineyards, with native flora reintroduced to promote biodiversity and soil health.
Recognised Global Leaders in Winemaking and Viticulture
In 2024, Prue Henschke was inducted into the James Halliday Hall of Fame, in recognition of her lifetime commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation in viticulture. The following year, Stephen Henschke received the IMW’s Winemaker’s Winemaker Award, cementing his status as a pioneer of fine Australian wine and a respected guardian of the country’s winemaking heritage.
