Experience the exceptional elegance of the Haras de Pirque Galantas Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc 2019, a premium Chilean red wine sourced from the renowned Maipo Andes Valley. This vintage showcases the perfect balance of freshness, depth, and complexity that wine enthusiasts seek in a top-tier Cabernet Franc.
Vintage & Harvest
The 2019 growing season at Haras de Pirque was ideal for producing a wine with intense varietal character. Cool spring temperatures and a warm summer allowed the grapes to achieve perfect ripeness, while crisp afternoons and cool nights in January through April enhanced freshness and elegance. Cabernet Franc grapes were carefully harvested in two phases: high-altitude vineyards in early April and valley floor parcels later in the month.
Vinification
The grapes from four distinct vineyard parcels were fermented separately in stainless steel vats and French oak barrels. A 3–5-day cold maceration enriched the wine’s aromatic profile, followed by 14 months of aging in barriques to develop complexity and smooth tannins.
Tasting Notes
Haras de Pirque Galantas 2019 dazzles with an intensely red colour and a vibrant nose of fresh red fruits, including strawberries and black cherries, complemented by delicate spice notes. On the palate, it is soft, generous, and persistent, with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. A true expression of the Maipo Andes Valley terroir, this wine pairs perfectly with roasted meats, grilled vegetables, or rich cheeses.
Haras de Pirque Estate was founded with a clear vision, to craft high-quality organic Chilean wines that reflect the extraordinary terroir of the Maipo Valley. Our journey began with a passion for sustainable winemaking in Chile, combining centuries of tradition with innovation and respect for nature.
The name Haras de Pirque pays tribute to Chile’s oldest thoroughbred horse farm, established in 1892. Today, our vineyards and state-of-the-art winery are surrounded by the historic racetrack, blending the art of winemaking with the heritage of Chilean equestrian excellence.
Nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, our estate sits at the heart of the region where Chilean viticulture first flourished. When the Maipo Valley was recognised as a Chilean appellation of origin in 1994, it became the cradle of the country’s most prestigious wines, a legacy that Haras de Pirque proudly continues.
In the early 2000s, Marchese Piero Antinori, captivated by the beauty and potential of this land, joined the Haras de Pirque adventure. What began as a celebrated thoroughbred stud farm evolved into a collaboration between Italian winemaking heritage and Chilean terroir, a harmony that defines every bottle we produce.
Our first harvest marked a new era: the 2001 vintage gave birth to Albis, a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, dedicated to Piero Antinori’s eldest daughter, Albiera. Albis represents the dawn of a new day, a perfect expression of balance, elegance, and the unique character of the Maipo Valley’s organic vineyards.
