Discover the elegance of Fattoria Le Pupille Saffredi 2021, a prestigious Super Tuscan red wine from Maremma, Tuscany. Crafted by Elisabetta Geppetti, this vintage is a bold blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (25%), and Petit Verdot (10%), expressing power, refinement, and incredible ageing potential.
Grown in the Saffredi vineyard in Pereta at 250 metres above sea level, this wine benefits from both south-west and south-east vineyard exposure. The harvest was meticulously timed: Merlot was picked in early September, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot were harvested in early October, ensuring optimal ripeness and flavour concentration.
Fermentation occurred at 26°C in stainless steel tanks, followed by an extended maceration period of 30 to 45 days. The wine was then aged for 18 months in French oak barriques (60-65% new), delivering complexity, structure, and depth.

"The Fattoria le Pupille 2021 Saffredi is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot that offers seamless integration of dark fruit flavours that bleed directly into spice, Tuscan cigar and earthy iris root. This vintage is compact and firm, especially in terms of mouthfeel, with graceful floral tones to close. The winery team has been tweaking the oak regime, landing on 60% to 65% new oak complemented by once-used barrels.
