Experience the exceptional quality of Château Grand Mayne 2016, a prestigious Bordeaux red wine crafted from a 15-hectare vineyard nestled in the renowned Saint-Émilion appellation. This vintage boasts a unique clay-limestone terroir on the slopes and rich clay soils at the base, contributing to its complex and elegant character.
Winemaking Process
Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes undergo precise fermentation in a combination of traditional wooden vats and stainless-steel tanks with strict temperature control. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new, ensuring a refined balance of oak and fruit. The expert consulting oenologist Michel Rolland lends his expertise to this meticulous production.

Château La Grande Maye is situated in the Côtes de Castillon, a subregion of Bordeaux known for producing high-quality wines at more accessible price points compared to the renowned estates of Saint-Émilion. The terroir here is characterised by clay soils, which are particularly favourable for Merlot, the dominant grape variety in their wines.
Under the stewardship of Paul and Cédric Valade, the estate has garnered attention for its commitment to quality and value. Their wines are crafted to showcase the ripe fruit and complexity achievable in this terroir, often aged in oak to enhance structure and depth.
