Discover Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas Le Poste 2020, a rare, handcrafted biodynamic wine from one of the Rhône Valley’s most historic estates. This limited-production red wine originates from a 1-hectare terraced vineyard near the Saint Cosme chapel, at 280 meters above sea level—making it one of the coolest and most distinctive sites in Gigondas.
Crafted by Louis Barruol, a 15th-generation winemaker, this wine reflects over five centuries of tradition and innovation. The Gigondas Le Poste 2020 is vinified using whole cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aged in French oak barrels (20% new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve purity and structure. Only six barrels are made annually, making this a true collector’s item.
With a field blend led by old-vine Grenache and a touch of Clairette, this elegant red wine delivers a refined balance of power and finesse. Expect intense aromatics and flavours of iodine, violet, cracked pepper, and mineral ash, underscored by the vineyard's limestone-rich soils and cool microclimate.

Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas Old Vine Red Wine – Crafted by Louis Barruol, "The Genius of Gigondas"
Discover the exceptional Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas red wine, a masterpiece from the heart of the southern Rhône Valley. With over 500 years of winemaking heritage, this historic estate has been owned by the Barruol family since the 16th century. Today, fourteenth-generation winemaker Louis Barruol leads the estate, earning widespread acclaim as one of the Rhône’s most respected vintners, often called the Genius of Gigondas.
Crafted from old-vine parcels in the Gigondas appellation, each bottle reflects the estate’s unique location at the intersection of two rare geological faults. This natural advantage provides remarkable soil diversity, enabling Louis to produce single-vineyard Rhône wines that truly express their terroir.
In addition to estate-grown wines, Barruol oversees his own Rhône Valley négociant wine collection, working closely with trusted growers. He supervises every step, from vineyard to bottle, to deliver exceptional wines from appellations like Côtes du Rhône, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph.
Whether you are a collector, sommelier, or enthusiast of premium Gigondas wines, Château de Saint Cosme offers a powerful and elegant expression of the southern Rhône.
