Family-owned since 1490, Château de Saint Cosme is the benchmark winery in Gigondas, led today by Louis Barruol, who transitioned the estate to biodynamic viticulture in 2010. The Le Claux vineyard, meaning “Clos” in old French, is the estate’s oldest plot, originally planted in 1870. A portion of the vineyard still contains vines from that pre-WWI planting.
