Macán 2018 is a refined and elegant Spanish red wine from Rioja DOCa, crafted exclusively from 100% Tempranillo grapes. Representing the collaborative excellence of Tempos Vega Sicilia and Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild, this vintage captures the essence of Rioja's finest high-altitude vineyards.
Aged with precision and care, Macán 2018 offers a vibrant and fresh expression of Tempranillo. This vintage reflects a cooler, wetter growing season influenced by the Atlantic, resulting in a red wine with outstanding freshness, balance, and subtle complexity. Expect lifted aromas, structured tannins, and a silky, persistent finish.
The grapes for this vintage are hand-selected from mature vines planted on gravelly, calcareous clay soils. Harvested in early October, the wine underwent extended extraction and saw a 5% increase in barrel weight, intensifying its character.
Perfect for collectors and connoisseurs, Macán 2018 is drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve over the next 10–15 years when stored under optimal cellar conditions (12–14ºC, 60% humidity). For best enjoyment, serve at 18 ºC.
