Tignanello 2023 – Iconic Super Tuscan by Antinori
Tignanello 2023 from the historic Antinori family is one of Italy’s most iconic and influential wines. Produced at the renowned Tenuta Tignanello estate in Tuscany, this wine helped revolutionise Italian winemaking and establish the Super Tuscan category.
Crafted primarily from Sangiovese with small proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Antinori Tignanello 2023 balances the elegance of traditional Tuscan grapes with the structure of Bordeaux varieties.
The 2023 vintage captures the estate’s unique terroir with remarkable purity, refined tannins, and vibrant aromatics, making it a standout release for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The Legacy of Antinori
The Marchesi Antinori family has been producing wine in Tuscany for more than 600 years, making them one of the most historic wine dynasties in the world.
When Tignanello was first introduced in the early 1970s, it broke traditional Chianti rules by incorporating international grape varieties and ageing the wine in small oak barrels. This bold approach helped create the modern Super Tuscan movement, transforming the global perception of Italian wine.
Today, Tignanello remains one of the most sought-after Italian wines and a benchmark for the region.

Wine Critic Score & Review
98 Points – Colin Hay, The Drinks Business
“A fantastic vintage of this Tuscan superstar, a super Tuscan so clearly and surely but undemonstratively so, with no excess – just poise, harmony, elegance and, above all, finesse.
This is gorgeously beguiling and enticing aromatically, drawing you in to its dark web of berry and stone fruits, graphite, cracked black pepper and subtler floral and herbal notes. I love the little hint of cornflowers, lilac and blueberry. Shimmering in its crystalline purity with the ultra-fine grained, almost glassy, tannins pixilating the mid-palate picking out details as they do so and offering an early glimpse of the staggering complexity and layering of this wine.”
This outstanding 98-point review highlights the vintage’s finesse, precision, and extraordinary complexity.
